The Mentorship Dimensions Tool recognizes that effective mentoring is adaptive, reflective, and guided by professional judgment, rather than a single approach.

The Mentorship
Dimensions Tool

Inspired by Feiman-Nemser's (1998) concept of educative mentoring, Mentorship Dimensions is a reflective framework that supports responsive, relationship-based mentoring and ongoing professional growth.
The Mentorship Dimension tool consists of six dimensions organized into two areas of focus:
Professional Learning

Approach
Debrief
Focus
Centers on feedback, reflection and professional learning.
Each dimension exists on a continuum, not as a measure of right or wrong, but as a range of responsive practices. The framework encourages mentors to move fluidly along each continuum as relationships, contexts, and learner needs evolve.
